Seed catalog
Aug 30th, 2007 by Julie Kirkwood
I got a call yesterday from an Eagle-Tribune reader named George in Haverhill, Mass.
He’s 87 years old and wanted to share a tip for a free seed catalog he really likes. It’s called The Cook’s Garden.
The book is a beautiful book. They have vegetables. They have flowers. They have vegetables you’ve never even heard of, herbs, stuff like that.
Turns out George has never actually ordered anything from the catalog, but he has an old issue from 1999 that he has read and reread several times. His issue includes articles on how to combine certain vegetables in the garden, and how to make jams and jellies.
Sounds good to me. I’m not sure I’m ready to think about next year’s garden yet, but in my opinion you can never have enough free seed catalogs.
