I’m on vacation this week, which means I’m not worrying about the Saturday night theme. It happens to be foods from the Netherlands, but I know from experience that when I’m not there, there’s not much cooking!
So I’ve gone the easy route at home this week. I enjoyed leftovers for a couple days, then created some mixture of shredded hash browns and hot dogs, cooked together in a little butter in the frying pan. Not very healthy or exciting.
Tonight I was craving something fresh baked. I recently bought a few bags of Betty Crocker cookie mix, so I decided to give it a try. The instructions are to add one stick of softened butter and one egg. I did that and found it wasn’t wet enough to form into dough, so I added just a little milk.
I knew that I was making the cookies a little bigger than they suggested and was trying to cram them onto one cookie sheet instead of being patient and doing it correctly. Below is the result. Huge cookies trying to overtake each other. Amusing, but oh so yummy warm and soft with a cold glass of milk.
