METHUEN — Local gyms are encouraging animal lovers to get fit and help animals in the 7th annual “Tour de Pooch & Pals” Spin for Animals scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 6 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In an effort to raise money for the animals and programs of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at Nevins Farm, spin instructors from Cedardale Health & Fitness in Haverhill, Seacoast Sports Club in Portsmouth, N.H., Fitness for You in North Andover, and Natural High Fitness and Fitness Factory, both in Newburyport, are calling upon seasoned spinners and those new to the workout to spin for one to three hours.

Participants in the spin can choose to register for one, two or three hours, and can spin as an individual or as a team. Registration is $30 per hour, and additional pledges are accepted. Those who raise more than $200 receive a T-shirt. To register, visit any of the participating gyms or mspca.org/nevins, said a press release from the MSPCA.
