Marilinda Garcia of Salem, who won a vacant seat in New Hampshire State House in a special election last Tuesday, will be sworn in later this week.
Garcia, a republican, has to wait until Wednesday to be sworn in because that’s the next time the Governor and the State’s Executive Council will meet. The Council must be on hand for the swearing in of legislators in New Hampshire.
The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m in the Executive Council’s Chamber at the State House in Concord.
The seat in the house, representing District 4, has been open since representative Mark Pearson resigned in January. Garcia beat democrat Sheila Murray in the general election last Tuesday.
