The Jets defense simply took over the second half. Great day to be wearing green. Pats simply have a lot of holes to fill. And Brady and Moss can’t answer all of them. Moss was non-existent. The loss of Welker really, really, really stung.

Now we know why Pete Carroll wanted Mark Sanchez to stick around at USC. The kid is pretty darn good. He makes all the right reads, shows nice composure under fire, and has a strong arm with touch. Jets lead now, 16-9 with 9:48 left.

The Jets throw up a 10-0 third quarter, possess the ball for 10 of the 15 minutes and rest their defense for the stretch run. A bemused New England defense needs a stop now.
A pair of back-to-back delay of game penalties cost the Pats point. It happens, and the Pats, in field goal range are forced to punt. Talk about un-Patriotic. 13-9 Jets with 3 minutes left into the third.
Dreadful out of the gate start by the Pats in the second half, giving up 10 straight points …. but …… A courageous stand with the Jets inside the 10, thwarts some momentum with just a field goal. Big chunk of rest for what has to be a fading NYJ defense. Time for the Pats [...]
1. The hurry-up has to be gassing the Jets. 2. The Litto Sheppard injury (questionable, leg) really hurts this Jets defensive scheme, which has the corners playing bump and run … 3. There’s a reason Bill Belichick didn’t panic as Greg Lewis failed miserably and Joey Galloway continues to underachieve. That reason is, Julian Edelman. [...]
Jets really have no defensive answer for the New England hurry-up And the Jets can’t do a thing on offense. Still, it’s only a pair of field goals, and the Pats lead. 6-0. Interesting here, the Jets look confused. Trying to run the football, the Pats are stout tackle-to-tackle. It’s sound thought, go right at [...]
Three quick observations as the Pats lead, 3-0. 1. The Jets look horrific offensively. A turnover, another awful fumble and a confused attack. 2. The Pats can’t block anyone right now. 3. When Moss is split left, the defense shifts over and leaves a weakness to the offensive left. Watch Fred Taylor look to exploit [...]
Pats go hurry-up, with one back and Edelman the Welker spot. Why go hurry-up with this defense, I’m not sure. The Jets stiffen, force a punt and Chris Hanson can’t lock them down. Now the focus shifts to the Pats linebackers. Gary Guyoton in the middlof the 4-3.
