The Red Sox announced their 2010 schedule today and there are some interesting elements, including opening the season and ending the season with three games against the Yankees at Fenway Park.
How ’bout them apples?
Here are a few other highlights:
– Mark June 18-20 on your calender. That’s when the Dodgers, including Manny Ramirez and Joe Torre, will be coming to Fenway Park. I can’t wait.
– The 2008 champs, the Phillies, will also come to Fenway along with the Arizona Diamonbacks, which means three of the best franchises in the NL will come to Boston.
– The Sox will play a hungry Tampa Bay team a series in every month of the regular season, spreading out the new rivalry.
– The Sox return to Colorado for the first time since the World Series in 2007 for a three-game series June 22-24, which would make a nice family junket.
– The Sox make only one weekend road trip to Toronto, July 9-11, just before the All-Star break. That takes away more opportunities for fans, particularly families to make the Canadian getaway.
You may want to start making plans for road trips.
– 13 of the first 19 games will be at home, which could aid a good start.
