According to an NBA source, Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett has decided not to have surgery on his knee with the hope of playing in the upcoming NBA playoffs.
The source told The Eagle-Tribune that knee surgery has been an option, but the Celtics veteran decided against it feeling he would have little to no chance of competing in the playoffs.
Garnett originally hurt his left knee on Feb. 19 at Utah. He missed 13 games before coming back on March 20 against the San Antonio Spurs.
Today the Celtics announced Garnett would be “shutting it down” with the hope of returning with a few games remaining in the season.
