Here are few nuggets as the Celtics prepare for their second “Game of the Century” tomorrow night against the Lakers:
According to a source, Celtics forward Kevin Garnett will play tomorrow night against the Lakers after his severe bout with the flu.
Garnett apparently lost about four pounds over the five days he was out and he may not be at 100 percent tomorrow night.
As for Stephon Marbury, according to a source the Celtics have all but given up hope that he could late season acquisition.
The Knicks, which have already paid him nearly $12 million of his $20.8 million salary for 2008-09, are apparently willing to let him sit out the rest of the season rather than let him sign for the minimum with the Celtics.
“It could still happen,” said the NBA source. “But nobody is holding their breath. Stephon would like to go to Boston and the Knicks aren’t too willing to make him happy.”
