With word that the Chiefs lead the Dolphins, 31-24, in the third quarter of their game (if Dolphins and Jets lose today, Pats in playoffs with a win next week), the news couldn’t be any better.
Of course, the Dolphins tied the score at 31-31, about one minute later.
That being said, you can’t say enough the way the Patriots have beaten the daylights out of everybody in their path.
Even the tough win in Seattle two weeks ago was special, because the Patriots didn’t crumble in the fourth quarter.
Here are a few of the highlights:
The Patriots are 7-for-11 on third down, which in this weather, is amazing.
Kicker Stephen Gostkowski is three-for-three (35, 38 and 24 yards) on field goals.
Cards QB Kurt Warner threw nine straight incompletions before hitting the sidelines for good. He finished 6-for-18.
Compare that to Matt Cassel who is 20 of 34 for 345 yards and 3 TDs. You would think both teams are playing in different conditions.
Cards have 41 yards rushing on 14 carries. That is the norm for them. Their running game is pathetic.
The Patriots have rushed for 124 yards on 27 carries with Sammy Morris at 61 yards on 11 carries.
Can we say a perfect game?
Can we say the NFC is really, really bad?
