What are your thoughts and comments about Dustin Pedroia’s award winning season?
What about Kevin Youkilis, who finished third?
I believe the right guy got the award. Pedroia really is special. He not only had the numbers — .326, 17 HRs, 83 RBI, 20 stolen bases and only six errors — but his penchant for big plays in the field or at the plate was second to none.
The fact that he does it in fish bowl called “Boston” is even more impressive.
Anyway, I’d like to know your opinion.

I don’t have a problem with Pedroia winning, but my vote definitely would have gone for Youk. Dustin’s numbers are comparable to Youk’s when you account for postion adjutment, but I think the key was Youkilis’s versatility. He was able to to move to third when Lowell went down and not only keep producing at a high level at the plate, but he also put up similar defensive numbers at the hot corner. And that was on top of his stellar defense at 1B.

Dustin was the engine, Youk was the wheels, and Francona was the driver.
