Pete Carroll once noted about some poor drafting while with the Patriots, “Everybody’s drafting is spotty.” That applies to pregame predictions – I usually screw up when I make picks before games.

– Denver – suddenly has its groove back.

– Nobody expected a tie, but for the Eagles to think they’d go to a second OT is symptomatic of how much Andy Reid has deteriorated as a coach.

– Get back on the Rodgers bandwagon.

– It was a statement game, alright – the Colts are winning again but with a small margin for error.

– They’re the Aints – you expected better?

– Miami has a smaller margin for error than Indy – it showed in an empty win over a punchless Raiders team.

– Ravens aren’t ready for playoff primetime.

– Vikings aren’t going anywhere.

– Panthers still the NFC South’s best; Detroit won’t win.

– Titans are the real deal; Jaguars aren’t – BTW Bill, I caught Peter King on D&H saying the Jags will be gone from Jax sooner or later – where will they go, San Antonio?

– How bad is the NFC West? This bad.

– The Cardinals are not a real team; sooner or later that will catch up to them.

– Norv Turner will be fired after this season, but Pittsburgh is worse than I thought it was under Mike Tomlin.

– Redskins are still the Deadskins.

I’m deferring the MNF game until it’s actually played.
