Randy Moss makes a great, great, great catch for a tying TD as New York allows the Pats right down the field. Mangini will hear about the switch to the prevent defense in the last 1:20 in the papers and on the FAN if the J-E-T-S go down in overtime.

OMG, the great ones step up. We go to OT.

Ugly, ugly holding call really hurts … A four-point penalty.

The officials have been mighty kind to your Patriots over the first 9 games. They really stung the home team tonight, including a bogus hold on Mike Vrabel to give up the lead-taking TD by the Jets.
NY gets to run off extra time, over a minute anyway and forced the Pats to burn their timeouts.
3:10 [...]
So what happens now?
The Jets, once in complete control, simply have curled up into a little ball of goo.
They aren’t making plays like they did early, and Brett Favre is playing tentatively.
Matt Cassel has done all anyone could ask leading his team back. Now New England needs a stop and then to go for the [...]
End of the third, Pats hanging around, where is the Jets pass rush?
Posted in Hector Longo, Patriots on Nov 13th, 2008 Comments
I’d love to say it’s a spirited effort by the Patriots, it’s kind of monotonous and the home team has clawed in it.
The Jets stopped attacking Matt Cassel, or the New Englanders found a way to neutralize the rush. Either way, the Pats own all the momentum as we go to the fourth quarter, 24-21 [...]
Halftime grades, and it ain’t pretty, folks … But did Cassel save the game late?
Posted in Hector Longo, Patriots on Nov 13th, 2008 Comments
The Patriots have made good on my prediction that it would be a field goal game, at least offensively until their final play of the half.
Matt Cassel’s best throw of the year, from 19 out, gets the home team back in it at 24-13. The throw was perfect.
Otherwise, when you kick 3s and the other [...]
A flat-out incredible catch by Jericho Cotchery on a 67-yard bomb helps make it 24-6.
Yes, that was Ellis Hobbs, out on an island by himself. He couldn’t even interfere right.
Again, a comback will only come on Matt Cassel’s shoulders.
This is the most important 4:57 of his pro career coming up.
Neither QB gets much help … Time for Cassel to earn himself a contract

The Jets are basically playing every receiver in man-to-man, including Randy Moss, who hasn’t done a thing, even 1-on-1 with Ty Law.
Matt Cassel could use a little help here, boys. Somebody step up and make a play for him.
Benjamin Watson’s route on 3rd-and-long in the red zone was deplorable.
On the other side, Dustin Keller dropped [...]
Strange run call by NE on 3rd-and-5 at the 25, but the home team settles for 3 and trails, 7-3.
How can the Pats adjust?
They missed Ty Warren and Adalius Thomas on the first drive and it showed.
Sammy Morris is up and looks ready to go but the rookie, BenJarvus Green-Ellis gets the nod first.
Impressive drive by the NYJ to open the game.

Eric Mangini is on his game, so are Brett Favre, Leon Washington and Thomas Jones.
The Jets know they need the lead, as the Pats have been the consummate front-runners this year.
They win the toss, take the ball, get a good return from Washington and march 62 yards to paydirt.
Can’t wait to see Ty Law on [...]
