The Boston Bruins deserve out mention.
I attended my first B’s game last night and, well, they were very good.
While the crowd was announced at 15,000-plus, it seemed sparse.
The fans are not ready to embrace this team, due probably to a difficult decade, but they should.
Finding a dependable goal-scorer will probably continue to be the team’s biggest missing link, but they have everything else in place, including the old-fashioned Bruins effort and goaltending (Tim Thomas is for real), to be a very good team come April and May.
Peter Chiarelli, Cam Neely and coach Claude Julien mean business. You can see it on their faces.
I have a story in today’s Eagle-Tribune on rookie Blake Wheeler, who scored a hat trick in only his 13th NHL game. The 22-year-old said all the right things.
In a nutshell, I was impressed. They were dominant again last night (5-2 over the Leafs).
