Tampa is a rookie city. They are not crushed beyond belief, as most of you were in 1986 when the Mets made their miraculous two-out comeback in Game 6 of the World Series. They are frazzled. They thought it was over just like most of you (and me) thought the same thing. But everything has [...]

Al Michaels, where are you? The Red Sox have done the unthinkable after 24 of the sleepiest post-season innings in Red Sox recent playoff history. Sox-Rays 5: Dice-K update

Again, not good. Four of the first eight batters have had three-ball counts. Through two innings he has thrown 47 pitches. It’s early, but o much for Francona’s “we need Dice-K to go deep and be effective.”

What is the Red Sox playoff record the last weeks when they’ve allowed runs in the first two innings? A hint: It’s really, really bad. 0-4, not including tonight. **** One thing on the fans. They are better tonight. They came ready to cheer and liven the place up a bit, making it feel like [...]
