The Pats are up 20-0, and should be up 35-0 the way the Broncos have played.
Four turnovers are one thing, but Denver’s done a spectacular job helping out overall the New England cause.
Kudos to the men in stripes, ignoring a potential Pierre Woods roughing the passer call on Brandon Meriweather’s interception and an absolute pushoff by Randy Moss on his TD.
Denver 6 penalties, 63 yards (so typical of a mike shanahan team, right???) and the Pats 1 for 15 (A late makeup call on Harrison after the Pats took a 20-0 lead). Good to see the men in stripes aiding the cause, right?
Here are the first-half grades
Offense
Line (A) … Sammy Morris has a career high in rushing, and the sacks are Matt Cassel being Matt Cassell.
Receivers (B-) … They are not a factor in this one. Denver’s playing so bad, they’re not needed.
Running backs (A+) … Two missed blitz pickups from a perfect score. Still, it’s a 98.6.
QB (B-) … Yeah, Matt.
Defense
Line (C) … Denver is averaging 8.4 yards a carry.
Linebackers (B) … Jerod Mayo is making all the tackles, of course, they are after six or seven yard gains.
Secondary (B) … Again, Ellis Hobbs looks good, and Denver looks really putrid.
Coaching (A) … Belichick owns Shanahan. Two successful fourth-and-1 calls.
