Tampa is a rookie city.
They are not crushed beyond belief, as most of you were in 1986 when the Mets made their miraculous two-out comeback in Game 6 of the World Series.
They are frazzled. They thought it was over just like most of you (and me) thought the same thing.
But everything has changed.
There was a big “Bring on Boston” card on the St. Petersburgh Times newspaper boxes.
Columnists from both of the big dailies, including the Tampa Tribune, basically said the Rays are still in control.
Rookies. At least in the World Series, hard-core, baseball-is-your-life existence.

The heat and humidity are very lethal combo here.
I am staying across the street from Raymond James Stadium, which hosted the University of South Florida romp over Syracuse (it was on ABC).
I don’t know how you can do anything outside here. It’s hard to walk, never mind compete.

Well, I’m heading to The Trop, which will be 70 degrees (thank God!). And I will give you any pregame updates that popup.
I expect to be at the press conferences for Terry Francona, Joe Maddon, Jon Lester and Matt Garza.
