Now, you can say Curt Schilling threw his last pitch for the Boston Red Sox.
Schilling threw out the ceremonial first pitch, which he bounced about 15 feet before the catcher (I’m not kidding).
Schilling wore blue jeans and a white Red Sox jersey with No. 38.
My advice to Schilling: Don’t give up your new day job.
In all honesty, he deserves as much credit as any with what has happened since the end of 2003. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: He was not afraid of the Yankees and it permeated everywhere.
His playoff record (11-2, 2.23 ERA) ranks among the all-time best. Even last year, with a tired old wing, he went 3-0 averaging six innings per start.
A warrior if there ever was one.
