Where was a move like this when it mattered?
Manager Terry Francona brought in Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon in the seventh inning with no outs and two on. It added a little excitement a lack-luster evening.
Of course, it didn’t work, with B.J. Upton hitting a double off the wall in left field, scoring both runners to increase the lead to 7-0.
Anyway, it was a nice move. But it was too, too late.
