Al Michaels, where are you?
The Red Sox have done the unthinkable after 24 of the sleepiest post-season innings in Red Sox recent playoff history.
Trailing 7-4 to open the eighth inning, Jason Bay led off with a walk followed by a two-run homer from J.D. Drew, whose playoff history is picking up accolades.
Then, with two outs, Mark Kotsay, probably the Red Sox ALCS MVP to this point, finally hit a ball over B.J. Upton in center for double.
Then came Coco Crisp, who has not had a meaningful hit in I don’t know how long.
It’s not a miracle if you don’t win. So stay tuned.
On the 10th pitch, after fouling off five balls, he ripped a single to right field, scoring Kotsay. Crisp was thrown out going to second, but who cares?, the score is tied at 7-7.
