And he was cranky, for among other things, story on Foxsports.com headlined: Will non-white free agents shun Boston?
“That was (bleep)!” said Epstein.
Esptein was right. It was and still is “bleep.”
Rosenthal was on WEEI refuting the “racist” element. Pathetic. Pathetic. Pathetic.
He said he wasn’t inferring anything, just letting people know it could be a problem “down the road.”
Rosenthal chickened out. He should have said they were racists if that’s what he believed.
Instead he “threw it out there,” which is not the kind of subject you want just throw out there.
“If you look at our team we are near the leage average (in minorities),” said Epstein. “It’s ridiculous. And I told him he shouldn’t write the story.”
The fact that Epstein had to look up the fact that the Sox are near the league average in minorities is preposterous.
Rosenthan blew it. He blew smoke where there was no fire.
