Sox vs. Lackey … Ortiz, Pedroia good, Ellsbury bad

Angels ace John Lackey has had lot of experience against the Red Sox and like Lester, has some successes and some struggles.
David Ortiz has 10 hits in 30 at bats, while Dustin Pedroia is even better with five hits in 12 at bats. Kevin Youkilis and J.D. Drew are also hovering .300.

Lester vs. Angels … Matthews 3-for-6, 2 HRs

The Angels have had varying success against the new Red Sox “ace” Jon Lester, including Gary Matthews two homers in six at bats and Vlad Guerrero’s .400 average (4-for-10)

Sox set roster for series with Angels … No surprises

There are no real surprises. Both Paul Byrd and Tim Wakefield will be on it, probably both going in the bullpen for long relief if needed.
The roster is as follows:
