You have to check out the big sports radio talk station in Indianapolis’ Website (www.wnde.com). They are waiting, breathlessly, for the Patriots to come to town and somebody from the station has dedicated a few dozen hours (my estimate) on basically hating the Patriots.
Some of it is funny, but some of it borders on crossing the line.

Here are a few thoughts about a busy sports world, particularly around here:
1. The Giants are No. 1.
Give the defending champs credit. They are a very good football team in a mediocre league. They go to Pittsburgh and beat the Steelers badly in the fourth quarter with the game on the line, this despite issues with their star receiver, Plaxico Burress, who is imitating Terrell Owens these days. An absolute gimme as you looked at the schedule has developed into an absolute dogfight, 13-10 at halftime.
The officials have truly helped out the Pats, with a phantom holding call, stunting one drive and a facemask flag picked up on another. The penalties for the half, three big ones on the Rams for 23 yards and you’re absolutely, impeccably flawless Pats, 0 for 0.

The Patriots miss Rodney Harrison, don’t they. At least when Ellis Hobbs got toasted on the long bombs with Roney there, it went for a 40-yard gain and Harrison made the tackle.
No such luck on the Bulger to Donnie Avery TD pass, the longest completion of Bulger’s NFL career makes it 10-7 St. Louis.
