A week ago, nobody was questioning Bill Belichick’s choice for Tom Brady’s backup. That all changed after Sunday’s debacle versus Miami.
Well, you can go on record now.
Is Matt Cassel the right choice to be quarterback for the Patriots for the entire season?
What about Dante Culpepper, who is a former teammate of Randy Moss?
What about Tim Rattey, who has played in 37 games, including 18 starts, completing 429 of 711 passes in his career for 4,848 yards with 31 touchdowns and 23 interceptions for a passer rating of 80.4?
Is there anybody else out there? Doug Flutie (I saw him at an over-40 baseball game this summer)?
I believe Belichick has decided, for now, through thick and through thin, Cassel is his guy.
What do you think?

  • Cassel is the one to stay with for the season.

    Daunte Culpepper cannot play.
    Tim Rattay isn't good enough.
The Patriots have been developing Cassel for three years; he's young and has more upside than veteran backups.
