The Dolphins came in with 121 rushing yards, folks. They’ve got 72 on 12 carries through the first half.
Chad Pennington is 12 of 14 for 166 yards.
And Joey Porter has been silenced by the Pats offensive line. NOT!
The Dolphin voice box has two sacks already.
First half grades for the Pats:
Offense
Line (F) … Matt Cassel is running for his life.
RBs (C+) … Space is limited, but they’re at least falling forward.
QB (C) .. He’s Matt Cassel, folks. What more can you ask?
Receivers (D) … Wes Welker is playing admirably. Randy Moss is disinterested. I blame Scott Pioli and Bill Belichick for the fact that Sam Aiken is the No. 4 receiver on this team. Ben Watson is a non-factor and Dave Thomas had a drop.
Six points, folks. F for the effort.
Defense
Line (D) … They’ve been neutralized.
Linebackers (F) … Where’s the pursuit? Where’s the pressure? Where’s Adalius Thomas? Lost somewhere in coverage I presume.
Secondary (F) … Pennington, limp-armed, high-arcing Chad Pennington is 12 for 14. Enuf said.
An ugly, ugly half, possibly the worst since Drew Bledsoe’s days here.
