Everywhere you go, this is a big game, the Patriots at the Jets.
In the metropolitan New York area, this is just short of the Super Bowl.
I’ve been down here about a dozen times over the years for Patriots-Jets games and this might the most hyped I’ve been to.
The Jets radio (1050 AM) was all over the Patriots dynasty is dead, including and especially ex-Jet Greg Buttle leading the way.
“I think a lot of people have over-rated the Patriots,” said Buttle. “Even if they had (Tom) Brady, I’m not sure if it would be that different.”
The parking lots, even in the 92-degree temperatures, were very active in Jets excitement. There were Patriots fans strewn throughtout, but again, fewer than in past years.

There was one surprise in the inactives, at least on the Patriots side, was Patriots rookie Terrence Wheatley. Wheatley was being called a potential starter for last week’s opener before Deltha O’Neal took up most of the key minutes.
Also inactive for the Patriots is Eric Alexander (LB), Dan Connolly (C), Wesley Britt (OL), Ben Watson (TE), Sam Aiken (WR) and Shawn Crable (LB).
Inactive for the Jets are Mike Nugent (K), Erik Ainge (QB), Marcis Henry (WR), David Clowney (WR), Justin Miller (DB), Robert Turner (OL) and Kareem Brown (DL).
