Laurence Maroney’s out, questionable with a shoulder injury. Bryan Thomas rang Cassel’s bell on the first play of the series, with 2:12 to play and the kid is a little groggy. The two-minute warning couldn’t come fast enough.

If you’re a momentum guy, the Jets moving down the field, stalling and missing a field goal has to bode well for the New Englanders, who got shoved around some. Jay Feely’s 31-yarder never had a chance. Here comes Matt Cassel. Interesting point here, Belichick has all five backs active for this one.

Game time, huh! Pats defer and kick off here. Favre looks sharp, the Jets look very good in the trenches. Eric Mangini sent the early note to Richard Seymour that the New Yorkers will run at him. So far, he’s failed.
