The Pats defense bids for its third straight fourth-quarter hold.
Key players here:
Mike Vrabel … can he get to the QB when it matters most?
Jerod Mayo … New England is doubling the deep outside, meaning Mayo might get some one on one with a back where Huard will attack if he’s patient.

A nice stop by the defense last series, highlighted by a Vrabel sack, and then Ellis Hobbs comes up with the play of the day, so far, picking off Damon Huard.
What was Huard doing, trying to cram it into coverage? I don’t know.
But the much-maligned Hobbs makes a spectacular play on the ball. Good for [...]
Any halftime thoughts out there with Pats clinging to 7-3 lead?

Let me have them, folks.
If I was grading each Pats unit:
QBs … B
RBs … B
WRs … C- (penalized for the two fumbles and some poor play in punt return by Welker)
OL … B- The Pats aren’t exactly chewing up one of the game’s worst teams
TEs … Inc … Somebody please notify the great Dave Thomas [...]
Bill Belichick showing some early faith in hs younger linebackers, subbing in Pierre Woods on this series for Mike Vrabel. It’s hot out there, this is a good move, as long as Woods can play. Richard Seymour is bulling his man into the backfield like the old days. Seymour looks strong and active. He’s not [...]
What the heck is Herm Edwards doing, rushing four guys and allowing Randy Moss and eternity to get open?
Matt Cassel isn’t complaining as he hooks up with Moss on a the first TDof 2008.
By the way, New England lost six fumbles in 2007. They lost two already, in less than a quarter.
A 0-0 quarter that might has all of New England in a panic.
Moss had a big quarter, without including the fumble, 4 catches for 101 yards.
That was truly horrendous safety play the Cassel to Moss completion as the QB was locked on to Mpss but the safety never moved.
All in all, losing Brady, whose return [...]
Gulp! Matt Cassel stands at the 2, to lead the offense.

It’s a rousing ovation for Cassel, almost like the Foxboro Faithful is trying to convince him everything will be all right.
KC DE Tamba Hall, the Chiefs leading returning pass rusher, is off to the locker room, limping.
On a long completion to Moss, Tom Brady takes a bad shot to the left lef. He’s hobbling off the field and headed inside to the locker room.
First test for the defense, we’ll see if the preseason was a fluke.

A Wes Welker fumble puts the Pats defense in a tough spot, KC ball at the 48.
You know Larry Johnson will get his shot here, time to see how this defense responds.
Bowe and Darling will test the Pats corners too.
Interesting sidelight during the t/o as Mike Vrabel tries to sneak any info out of a [...]
