Matt Gutierrez does what Matt Cassel couldn’t, move his team down the field against the Eagles reserves.
Chad Jackson, let’s be positive, makes a pair of nice catches to step forward for the game’s “Patrick Pass Award” | that is the Patriot most impactful against the opposition’s scrubbinis.
Thanks for paying heed to my words over the last couple hours. The blog is now back in Bill Burt’s most able fingers.

Did anyone catch John Lynch, with the angle, getting outrun by the immortal Quinton Demps on that 101-yard kick return? Ouch, now those are the legs of an old man.
This is a team feeling the short week with just four days off between games.
Tough to find any positives yet. Still, it’s not as bad as it looks.

Donovan McNabb’s 7-yard TD pass to Jason Avant simply wouldn’t have happened in the regular season. For the first time all night, the Pats blanketed the coverage, and he had nobody to throw to, for at least four-five seconds.
That’s a hint of NE’s bend but don’t break that worked so well last year.
On the other hand, Rodney Harrison looks a step slow in the open field, and so has John Lynch.

I need a diversion from this lame (undermanned and Brady-less) Patriots offense.
Again, I’m here at press row, and I’m ready, willing and able to answer your queries.

If Matt Cassel was an old West gunslinger, he wouldn’t have been around by sundown.
Big fella, take your drop, look and fire. He’s reading defenses like Rohan Davey right now, and that’s not a good thing.
1-of-2 for 8 yards and a punt.
I’m telling you, Matt Gutierrez gets an early call tonight.
