Cs-Pistons Game 5: pregame notes … Tony Allen out
May 28th, 2008 by Bill Burt
There is a surprise on the Celtics inactives tonight. Tony Allen won’t be dressing. He will be replaced by Brian Scalabrine. It will be Scalabrine’s first playoff game if he plays.
Also joining Allen on the inactives is Scot Pollard and Gabe Pruitt. Callahan refereed Game 4 in Atlanta (Celts lost 97-92). Mauer refereed Game 7 against Atlanta (C’s won 99-65).

Referees to tonight’s game are: Mike Callahan, Ken Mauer and Eddie Rush.

Interesting nugget from ESPN’s Michelle Tafoya, who is the sideline analyst. Before the game she requested an interview with Ray Allen, which she wasn’t sure she’d get. Allen followed through.
She asked him about his slump and struggles. He answered the questions.
After the interview she thanked Jeff Twiss, the C’s VP of media relations and said, “He was first class. I have a lot of respect for him. I want his address. I will send him a card.”
