Cs-Pistons is great theater

Nothing has changed, in my humble opinion. This series is going seven games because, well, it has to.
These are two evenly matched teams. Both play probably the best defense in the league. And both have key players who can score during crunch time.
Last night’s game was a classic, other than a few too many ticky-tack foul calls.
I’ll be honest. I enjoys games in the 90s many times more than I do the ones in the 80s and 70s.
The biggest difference between good teams and true championship contenders is scoring. It means you have players who can break the code of a great defense.
The Pistons and Celtics both did that last night.
For the Pistons, guys like Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess are so dangerous. While they might be third, fourth or even fifth options, they seem to come through in the fourth quarter more often than they fail.
The Celtics aren’t that deep when it comes to late game producers, but you get the picture. Last night, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and, ahem, Ray Allen were superstars when it counted most.
It was fun watching each team create scoring opportunities when it counted.
Defense is great. But offenses beating great defenses is better.
I believe the Celtics win in Detroit, probably Game 3.
I also believe we are going to witness a classic 7-game series, unlike the first two against the Hawks and Cavaliers.
For the Celtics there are a few concerns: Rajon Rondo’s inconsistent offense; support from the bench (there isn’t a Rodney Stuckey there right now); and Kendrick Perkins seems lost.
And your thoughts?

Tonight is the night. If Celts win, they are legitimate. If they lose, they might get this to six or seven games. Detroit called their bluff and now it’s time the Celtics did the same. -

I agree that the C’s need to be in this position to win on the road. They will do it. In fact, I believe they will win this series in six games, which means two road wins.
