Red Sox chances look good during slump
Apr 28th, 2008 by Bill Burt
How’s this for a perspective on the Red Sox during their five-game losing streak, commenced by three straight losses in Tampa?
The Red Sox are going to be tough to beat.
Three reasons: Justin Masterson, Clay Buchholz and Josh Beckett.
All three guys bordered on outstanding in their starts allowing a combined four earned runs. The Red Sox pitching staff, rather than hitting, will dictate how far this team goes in October, if indeed they make it that far.
The Red Sox bats were quiet, but that is going to happen. The pitching, though, is another story. If Jon Lester can get any form of consistency, I believe the Red Sox can’t lose the division unless of a few major injuries.
What are your thoughts?

Dont forget about Lowrie… These guys are fun to watch. The bats are slumping but that will end soon when Papi gets off his shnide and Lowell comes back, Ellsbury gets back on base and Manny drives them all in!!
