Who is NBA’s MVP?
Apr 16th, 2008 by Bill Burt
This is a tough choice.
I am writing a column about my pick as we speak.
Let me know your choice and why?
Be realistic, please. Rank them in the top four, Kevin Garnett, Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant and Lebron James.
I will chime in soon.
I look forward to your pick and reasons.

1. Kevin Garnett: He personifies MVP.
2. Kobe Bryant: If not for Garnett, he would win.
3. Chris Paul: If not for Garnett and Bryant, he would be MVP.
4. Lebron James: He is great, but MVP? No way. -

1. Kevin Garnett: He made one of the worst teams in the league to the best.
2. Chris Paul: He also carried his team but not as much as Garnett.
3. Kobe Bryant: People thoguth he would be traded but he ended up making the Lakers one of the best teams in the league.
4. Jebron James: He is great but a 4th seeded team isn’t where the MVP comes from. -

I love garnett and what he does for Boston but without him i think we still do pretty good. I have to say that Kobe deserves this one. I cant believe that he hasnt received an MVP thus far. It was Shaq that got all the credit. I would go Kobe, CP, KG then the one i could care less about that sits at an Indians game against the Yankees with a NY hat on. Not a Lebron fan.
Hey Bill,
How about a Celtic-Laker series!! -

I have to think that’s Garnett. MVP is for the most valuable player, not necessarily the one with the most points. Garnett is the most valuable to the Celtics, no question
1. Garnett
2. Paul
3. Kobe
4. King James -

I think it should be Garnett because he does it all for the team and that is the true meaning of an MVP. He is a force off the court as much as he is off the court. He isn’t a show boat, he does it all and isn’t a ball hog like Bryant is. He gets his teammates involved which makes the whole team better. I could say the same about King James too but the results of the Celtics has been much greater than the results to the Cavs, so my vote goes to Garnett!! He has even helped me like Pierce more

Garnett Homers, homers, homers and then some. Granted the respondents have seen mostly only Celtic’s games and I gather the fact that they have watched few, if any, games of other teams in the NBA. The respondents are few, Max, Jim, Mike and Marsh and only one (jim-red) dared to veer from the homerism of Garnett for MVP, (he chose Kobe Bryant). He (Jim) is to be commended. For there are others, or one other, that is more deserving of the MVP than KG. And that is Chris Paul of the New Orleans Hornets. You speak of, “Kevin Garnett: He personifies MVP”, (what does that mean?), “Kevin Garnett: He made one of the worst teams in the league to the best.”, (All by himself? NOT), “Garnett is the most valuable to the Celtics, no question.”, “I think it should be Garnett because he does it all for the team and that is the true meaning of an MVP.” What do some of these comments Even mean and where do they come from (Jersey?). Land of Absurdity for most of them. Hands down, MVP Award goes to Chris Paul, Period! KG has R. Allen, Pierce, Rondo, Hendrikson and more. The Celts have the best bench in the league, Posey, Big Baby, Powe, House, PJ Brown and recently Sam Cassell amongst the rest. KG does it all, but not by his lonesome. Can you name me the starting five of the Hormets? I can’t, I can only name C. Paul, Dave West and the Stojakovic guy. Don’t know the other two starters. So who has done more with the cast around him? Chris Paul. Garnett even said that C. Paul is the league’s MVP during a recent ESPN interview this week. Need Say More? Look forward to see your comments, if any.
Quiz Question: Garnett was recently awarded the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year Award. If he is awarded the NBA MVP Award, what two players will he join in winning the NBA’s MVP and Defensive Player of the Year Award in the same season?
