McFadden visit to Foxboro is complete
Apr 11th, 2008 by Bill Burt
University of Arkansas running back Darren McFadden just finished his visit to Gillette Stadium. The All-American, ranked as the top back in the upcoming NFL Draft, flew in last night and arrived at the stadium this morning for interviews with several members of the Patriots coaching staff.
He apparently spent some time with head coach Bill Belichick. The two watched film from his career at Arkansas.
Among NFL people that have seen McFadden in person is that he is “stud.”
The Patriots already have what would be considered a bona fide running back, which makes this an interesting visit.
It appears that McFadden probably would not be around by the seventh pick. But crazier things have happened on draft day.
Here are his career stats at Arkansas:
YEAR ATT YDS AVG LNG TD REC YDS AVG LNG TD FUM LST
2005 176 1113 6.3 70 11 14 52 3.7 12 0 0 0
2006 284 1647 5.8 80 14 11 149 13.5 70 1 0 0
2007 325 1830 5.6 80 16 21 164 7.8 57 1 0 0

So what will McFadden’s number be with the Patriots? #38?
