Game 1: Vintage Sox
Mar 25th, 2008 by Bill Burt
Has anything changed since late October of 2007?
You’d never know it from Tokyo.
The Red Sox are tough. They really are. They were lucky to survive a horrendous start from Dice-K, who was a mess with his control. But they did just that. They survived.
Then the bats got going with Manny Ramirez leading both surges in the sixth and 10th innings — two run doubles — and the Sox are 1-0.
We can’t leave without mentioning Brandon Moss, a surprise fill-in for the injuried J.D. Drew (sore back). He knocked in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning with a single and was the key figure in extending the game with a one-out, game-tying homer in the ninth inning.
The Red Sox young players continue to play a big role in this team’s success.

The Red Sox are awesome. This game was exactly like last year. They are in every game until the end. This Moss kid looks like a keeper, too. -

That name “MOSS” is really working in Boston. J.D will be on a short leash this year if Moss keeps it up. He has awesome power. Whats the matter with Drew now?
