Ditto: Celts give championship performance
Mar 19th, 2008 by Bill Burt
The Houston game, a convincing 94-74 win, didn’t matter.
But I have to admit, it had a sort exclamation point to it.
The Celtics have proven their mettle time and again this season. The win over the Spurs was special. The win over the Rockets — this did not look like a great team — was impressive.
The Celtics still have two very, very tough games ahead of them on this trip, including tomorrow night in Dallas, and then Saturday in New Orleans. I really look forward to New Orleans for the Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo matchup. That will be physical and my guess is there will be some hard fouls in the middle (see: Kendrick Perkins).
The Celtics don’t have to win both of these games, but one would probably cement them as the overwhelming favorite in the East and the favorite overall to win the championship.

Hey Bill,
Houston didn’t show me anything!! except that they are a ridiculously small team (w/out Yao) and major overachievers. I personally think having won 22 straight games and only being tied for first will eventually deflate them in the West. They were very cocky (for good reason) but were TAMED!!! Rondo is a tuff little $#!^ isnt he? I cant wait for Rondo/Paul on sat. Whats up Ray? -
