It’s official, Daisuke Matsuzaka will start opening day and he will be followed by Game 4 winner and World Series clincher, Jon Lester, will follow in Game 2, both against the A’s.
The Dice-K start will be an interesting one with all of the commotion going on in his life — his wife gave birth to their second child three days ago, he is pitching in his homeland and it’s the opener.
This will be a very good test for Dice-K, seeing how he handles himself.
It’s also been reported the Josh Beckett, the best pitcher in baseball last year, will not make the trip to Japan. It is believed that he will be ready for Oakland, for Game 3 or Game 4, which is six and seven days after their debut.
Stay tuned.
