The New England Patriots has contacted Ty Law’s representative about the possiblity of coming back to his former team.
Law just told me a few teams have expressed interest already.
“Nothing substantial is happening right now, but a few teams have contacted my agent,” said Law, who is home in Plantation, Fla. “And yes, one of them was the Patriots.”
Before anybody gets their hopes up, no contract has been discussed, said Law, just inquiries.
He says his trip here two weeks ago was a memorable one and a reminder of why he loved it here so much.
“The fans are the best,” said Law. “They are passionate about everything. I’m the same way.”
Law said he was with Asante Samuel last night and he says, Samuel is very, very happy.
“He’s relieved that’s it over and he got a great contract,” said Law. “I’m happy for him. I hope fans understand it’s not personal. He got a great deal and he had to take it. You never know how long you’re going to play. He says he loved it with the Patriots. I know he did. I was there with him a for awhile. But business is business.”
Law says there is no timetable on a deal, except that it could happen in a week, month or two months, though he expects movement within a month.
