I’m waiting.
I will say this. The Patriots will not make him the richest cornerback in the league. All they have to say is Brady takes the “Perennial championship discount” and we expect you to as well.
That would mean instead of making $60 million over six years, with $25 million guaranteed over three years, it would be about $50 over six years, with about $20 million guaranteed.
My guess is Samuel gets what he wants elsewhere. I agree with Belichick on this one.

The Pats are only going to offer $50 million….not $60? How dare them!
Spare me. Have fun in the sun playing for a 1-15 team.

If Samuel leaves over a $10 million difference even though he’d still be the best-paid corner in the NFL, he’ll join Deion Branch, David Givens, and everyone other than Adam Vinatieri (and even that’s a stretch) who left the Patriots over money and got worse instead of better.

The value lies in the quarterback and in trench positions, not with flankers on either side of the ball.

    Guys
I believe what you believe. Samuel wants to be among the highest paid in the league. And if Brady is willing to forego that status, while being the best, they will not make Samuel the highest paid cornerback in the league.
If he is willing to accept a little less, the Pats will re-sign him.

I think the Patriots should let Samuel walk. I think they have the 7th pick in the first round. I think they should draft a cornerback with that pick.
