This is just so stunning. It’s going to take a while to get over it. They were SO CLOSE… they had Manning sacked, he just heaves the ball up and they get 30 yards. So lucky. I’m bitter.

I’ve got 42 reasons why the Patriots loss in the Super Bowl is the biggest stunner is sports history. Honestly, when I saw Burt’s column about the Patriots being unable to lose I went out and bet the house on the Giants. Thanks Bill…you’re the best!

I am with you. The Patriots simply haven’t lost a game like this in a long time. The AFC Championship a year ago was different. The Colts were a better team and the Patriots should have won it.
But the Patriots had this won about six or seven times, and blew it.
But also give the Giants credit. They made plays and capitalized when the Patriots left an opening.

I’m here to serve my readers. Congratulations on winning the wager. I expect a coffee from my favorite place, Perfecto’s in North Andover, with your name on it.

The stunning part of this Superbowl is that, for all the strength of the Giants pass rush and the incredibly bad play of the Patriots offensive line, the Patriots grabbed the lead with 2:42 to go, but Eli Manning pulled off a miracle – there is no other way to describe it; there is no way the Giants win the game without the most incredible save and throw ever seen in a playoff game. It’s a play neither Manning nor anyone else will ever pull off again.
