Super Bowl: First (quarter) impressions
Feb 3rd, 2008 by Bill Burt
Opening quarter thoughts:
The Randall Gay arm injury, suffered on the opening Giants drive had to cause a lump in Bill Belichick’s throat. The Pats have endured some brutal secondary injury problems in Super Bowls. The coach has to be praying it doesn’t happen again.
Laurence Maroney looks fresh and ready to run.
Randy Moss has been open on at least three different plays deep and Tom Brady hasn’t even looked his way.
The Pats are blitzing Eli Manning, but haven’t gotten to him yet. That bodes well for the Giants.
