Here is a question and answer from Bill Belichick on Patriots left guard Stephen Neal, who had never played football in college, coming to the Patriots as an undrafted college champion wrestler:
Belichick said:
“Steve’s a real interesting story. Over the summer of 2001, we worked Steve out, just as an athlete, really, just as you said, [...]
Autograph seekers have taken over the early part of Thursday, as nearly 100 of them were outside the convention center as celebrities, current and ex-NFL players went in and out.
Former Patriot Mike Haynes signed several items but wasn’t thrilled about it.
“If it was kids, I would love to do it. I love dealing with the [...]
It’s alive … the Super Bowl that is.
The fans have started to arrive, which means autograph hounds and scalpers, who have lined up outside the Phoenix Convention Center looking for current and former NFL stars, coaches and celebrities who are going in and out.

Media Day is a necessary evil of Super Bowl week.
It is the reason this sport is literally bigger than life.

Here was a rundown of what happened on Day 1, in no particular order:
1. Tom Brady practiced … gingerly.
2. The Giants arrived and have decided to stop inciting the Patriots with bulletin board material. This though may only last a day. Stay tuned.
3. Patriots linebacker Junior Seau and his ring-less career continues to be the [...]
Word had circulated around the media room this morning that Boston Globe columnist Bob Ryan’s son had died in Afghanistan.
I don’t have any details, just that it happened. There were a lot of reporters stunned by the news.
It would a nice if you could keep Bob and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
I’m here. I’m at the convention center, which is just across the street from our hotel.
It is starting to feel like a Super Bowl.
From estimates in the media credentials center more than 80 percent have already checked in by noon today.
In case you are wondering, the media needs to be here because our access to [...]
I am currently waiting to get on our plane for Houston via Phoenix (20 minute delay). It’s not nice out, but it did just stop snowing.
Anyway, I will send a quick blog from our hotel — Wyndham — in downtown Phoenix.
Make sure you check the blog out throughout the week. I will have my keyboard [...]
