Pats-Giants pregame 1
Dec 29th, 2007 by Bill Burt
The weather outside is delightful …
Really, the weather is perfect here at Giants Stadium, about 45 degrees, clear and without wind, which seems like a minor miracle this time of year in either Foxboro or East Rutherford, N.J.

Hector Longo and myself drove down about 11:30 a.m. and caught some bad traffic before getting on to Route 95 from Route 91 in New Haven. I know, I know, it was a big mistake. It took us about five hours instead of four. It was a risk we thought was worth taking, through the advice of MapQuest. NEVER AGAIN!!
In case you are coming to the northern N.J. area in the future, think Merritt Parkway or Route 84 through Connecticut.

As I was walking to the press box I ran into Charlie Weis, who was with his son, Charlie, both wearing Notre Dame jackets.
“I’m here for a visit, checking things out,” said Weis. “I’m just looking for players and took some time out. Don’t worry, we’ll be OK.”
Weis was stopped by a Giants employee whom he knew. The employee asked, “I hope you’re not here rooting for the other guys.”
“I’m just here to see some football,” said Weis.
Of course, Weis is pulling for the Patriots. He has spoken to both Bill Belichick and Tom Brady several times this season. In fact, in a press conference at Notre Dame recently he said he would be stopping by Foxboro to see the Patriots practice and maybe pick up a few pointers.
“Why wouldn’t I?” said Weis, referring to checking out the Patriots.

The radio frequency “guy” from Giants Stadium, who usually does the Jets games but was called in for backup tonight, says that tonight’s game has the most frequency’s ever requested at Giants Stadium outside of a playoff game. Is anyone surprised?

If you’re wondering about the NFL Network’s presence for tonight’s game all you need to know is their crew of people, which numbered over 100, has its own dining room on the first floor, as opposed to the 9th floor dining for the horde of media.
