Here are my picks for this weekend.
I will have a separate explanation on the Pats-Steelers game tomorrow:

Sunday’s games
NEW ENGLAND 38, Pittsburgh 13 … Steelers pay for kicking wounded dog
BUFFALO 31, Miami 17 … Bills have quietly had a nice season
CINCINNATI 38, St. Louis 20 … Time for Bengals to show some pride
Cleveland 27, N.Y. JETS 23 … Will be a close game
Dallas 38, DETROIT 31 … A little closer than people think
DENVER 27, Kansas City 24 … Who really cares?
GREEN BAY 31, Oakland 23 … Packers still wounded from Cowboys loss
Indianapolis 31, BALTIMORE 20 … I apologize for picking Colts to lose
JACKSONVILLE 31, Carolina 17 … Panthers won’t repeat last week
Minnesota 31, SAN FRANCISCO 24 … Vikings have a lot on the line
N.Y. Giants 27, PHILADELPHIA 24 … Giants are playoff-bound with win
SEATTLE 34, Arizona 33 … Seahawks are second-tier team in NFC
Tampa Bay 27, HOUSTON 24 … Expect a last second FG by somebody
TENNESSEE 27, San Diego 24 … Pivotal game for both teams
Monday night
New Orleans 31, ATLANTA 30 … A wild game that doesn’t matter
Home times in CAPS
Last week: 8-7

That Detroit-Dallas game I’m less sure of – Tony Romo showed last year he folds late in the season, plus to think he’s really that good when he got passed over for three other quarterbacks and didn’t play until his coach panicked and benched the starter halfway through a blowout loss is preposterous. I expect a Lions upset.

I’m also thinking upset in Baltimore – the Ravens may implode quite a bit but they still play tough and the Colts look less impressive each week.
