While defense is expected to play a bigger role in tonight’s game, because of the wind, don’t expect great things from the kicking game.
Swirling winds, especially blowing in their faces from the West going East, sent several field goal attemps and punts short and wide of their intended targets.
Patriots kicker Steve Gostowski had a difficult time making kicks beyond 35 yards going toward the uprights to the East.
We may seem some low, short kickoffs as well.

One comment so far... to “Pregame notes: Kickers will have tough time kicking West to East”

the wind can certainly play a role in kicking distance ability for that night. i had several occassions where i had to tell my coach that i could be counted on only if we got to the 30 yard line or in because of strong wind!
