The Red Sox have made it official. They will have Curt Schilling in the pitching rotation for at least one more season.
An ESPN.com story said Schilling’s contract is $8 million with incentives that could bring it near $10 million. I have not confirmed that part of today’s news.
A source with the Red Sox confirmed that “It appears there is an agreement.”
Remember, Schilling asked for $13 million back in March, only to have Theo Epstein say he would wait this one out. Well, it will save the Red Sox at least $3 million for waiting.
I will have more on this later.
