		<description>"inconsistent funk?"

dice-k has pitched his heart out and has shown himself to be the very soul of competition.

the japanese play a lot of long ball and bullpen practice, but that is nothing NOTHING when you are talking about competition (game) baseball. from 132 to 162 games. travel, and I mean hours of travel not shooting out to Springfield ma. or down to washington. it's an hour and a half plane flight from fukuoka on kyushu to tokyo. and a six game rest between starts to four or five. sawks management was told he wouldn't hold up by every credible baseball expert before and after the signing. they chose to ignore all that despite the obvious signs.

dice-k's arm was suffering from sporadic dead arm in late august, september was almost a total loss but still the sawks insisted on starting him, although they were able to give him a six day in between starts more often towards the end of the season. Still dice-k deserved to be totally shut down for a few weeks -- that's what the yankees did with mussina and it brought him around.

he has been misused to cover up for flawed strategies and flawed gm moves.

and you call that an "inconsistent funk."

<description>When will Dice-K snap out of this inconsistent funk? The guy seems to have a lack of confidence in his stuff. A bloop, a close ball call, something always seems to set him off.

He needs to realize how good he is and just deal.</description>
