Without having the ability to give a plausible explanation why, it is 5:35 p.m., an hour or so from the first pitch, and it doesn’t feel like a playoff game.
Why?
I can’t explain it. There just isn’t a buzz yet. Maybe it’s too warm, about 70 degrees, and maybe the Angels come to town with little or no fanfare, but the Sox-Yanks season finale felt 10 times more important than tonight’s game.

In 100 words or less, send me your reason or reasons why you believe the Red Sox will or won’t win the World Series.
I’m on record in today’s Eagle-Tribune Publishing newspapers saying the Red Sox will win it all.
I have five simplistic reasons:
1. Josh Beckett is the ace they haven’t had since 2004.
2. They have been consistently very good since April 1.
3. David Ortiz is David Ortiz again.
4. Winning division was an exorcism of sorts.

Beginning on Wednesday, I will be blogging every day, including from the park on the day of Red Sox playoff games.
