Michael Vick: Now it is piling on
Sep 26th, 2007 by Bill Burt
We’ll get back to the Red Sox in a little while, I just don’t get the charges that are coming from the local District Attorney in Sussex, Va.
Michael Vick made a plea agreement on federal charges — conspiracy and involvement with dog fighting enterprise. He will serve 18 months.
The reason the sentence is relatively low, as some people expected 3 to 5 years, was he made a deal. He will help investigators bring down other enterprises and bigger people in the business.
Vick deserves to be punished. He also deserves to make amends. These charges, announced yesterday, have more to do with some local people trying to get their 15 minutes of fame than doing the right thing.
Do you agree?

I kind of agreed until about half an hour ago, when it was announced that Vick tested positive for marijuana. That’s not a good start to his process of making amends and repairing his reputation, and furthermore it shows some blatant disregard for the law, because he knew he was going to be tested. Now more than ever he deserves everything that’s coming to him.
