Daisuke Matsuzaka is out of the game after giving up one run over seven innings. Will give complete breakdown shortly, but here is something to help paint the picture:- Of his 108 pitches, 49 were fastballs.- Of his 10 strikeouts five were finished off on fastballs.- And how about the fact he notched first-pitch strikes on 20 of his 26 batters, including the last seven Royals he faced?… continued »

Wanted to check in before Cirque Du Matsuzaka. (I will be charting Matsuzaka’s pitches, but won’t post until after he is finished.)
Here are some nuggets from Red Sox pre-game notes:
“Mike Lowell committed 3 errors on Wednesday night, his most ever
in a major league game… It was Lowell’s 1,101st game at 3rd base to go along with 8
