It’s true

Jonathan Papelbon will be the Red Sox’s closer. More after breaking it down on EEI for the next three hours … (shameless cross-promotion).
Your thoughts …

The big switch?

Rumors are circulating throughout Fort Myers and Clearwater that the Red Sox are ready to make Jonathan Papelbon the closer and put Julian Tavarez in the starting rotation. We should know definitively after today’s game, but until then we will continue to seek out confirmation one way or another.
It was exactly a year ago tomorrow [...]

Daisuke Matsuzaka’s Sports Illustrated cover was released and his arm didn’t fall off. (Thanks to Eagle-Tribune crack sports reporter Alan Siegel for the heads-up.)

Update: Perez is fighting a blister problem on [...]

One was from the National League and the other the American League, and both have been assigned to follow the Red Sox (among other teams) throughout spring training thus far. My question to them was in regards of their opinion concerning Boston’s closing situation. Both [...]

This from Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com.
“I was asked about Lidge the other day by a Boston scout,” Astros general manager Tim Purpura told FOXSports.com on Sunday. “I didn’t say, ‘No.’ I said, ‘Hell no.’”

(When I said I would be back at 11 a.m., I hope you understood I was talking about Central time.)
In case you haven’t seen it, Curt Schilling is in the blog zone over at 38 Pitches. Have … to … keep … up … (in case you missed it, the dots should be translated into [...]

Two things I have learned of late:1. Don’t put on the facade that you are going to keep up a blog when you are on vacation (as I was last week).2. Don’t plan on waking up before 8 a.m. the day after running 22 miles.
I’m going to bloggerific (translation: a prolific blogger) this week. Fasten [...]
